Transforming Knowledge Organization: Critical Approaches to Epistemological, Technological, and Cultural Change

Titre : Transforming Knowledge Organization: Critical Approaches to Epistemological, Technological, and Cultural Change

Résumé

Societies today face rapid and uneven transformations across epistemological frameworks, technological infrastructures, and cultural imaginaries in the wave of artificial intelligence (AI). The field of Knowledge Organization (KO) makes no exception. The 19th International ISKO Conference invites scholars and practitioners to explore strategies, approaches, and practices that will reshape the field of KO and critically contribute to more equitable, sustainable, and reflexive knowledge systems.

The conference theme emphasizes transformation, not as mere adaptation to new tools or contexts, but as a critical process of reexamining the foundations, functions, and futures of KO. We invite contributions that investigate how classification systems, ontologies, metadata, and other KO structures are embedded in social, historical, and technological processes, and how they can be redesigned to reflect plural epistemologies, cultural diversity, and ethical commitments.

We welcome interdisciplinary submissions from fields such as Information Science, Computer Science, Philosophy, Linguistics, Education, Cognitive Science, Digital Humanities, and other domains invested in the organization, mediation, and politics of knowledge.
