Résumé :

As information communication technologies continue to be adopted in healthcare, and health information becomes increasingly available from various sources, people are expected to have greater access to and control over health information and services. However, to fully benefit from these trends, it is essential for people to be equipped with adequate health literacy (HL), which is the ability to understand and process health information and to properly make informed decisions. Individuals with low HL may face challenges in comprehending and evaluating health-related information and services. Therefore, we propose a framework of improving HL by delivering medical knowledge and information in simple and easily understandable language, while identifying and classifying the levels of peoples’ HL with their interest in the healthcare context.
